Quick Drying Tips for Perfect Laundry
We always recommend only filling your dryer half full with laundry. Why? It makes a big difference. More air flows around your clothes, so they dry faster. Plus, you end up with less wrinkled laundry. When the dryer is too full, everything stays damp longer and crumples up. Keep it light and loose for the best results.
Now, we know comforters often take up the whole dryer. But with our reversing drums—drums that turn both ways—your comforter won’t just roll up into a tight log. Instead, the reversing action keeps it fluffy and helps everything dry evenly.
Here are some helpful dryer tips:
- Dry similar items together: Keep heavy items like towels or jeans in one load and lighter clothing like shirts or delicate fabrics in another. This helps everything dry evenly and efficiently.
- Avoid constantly opening the dryer door: Each time you open it, the heat escapes, and the dryer cools down. It then has to work harder to get back to the right temperature, which increases your drying time. Let the dryer run without interruptions for the best results.
- Use dryer balls instead of fabric sheets: Dryer balls help reduce drying time by separating clothes and improving air circulation. Plus, fabric sheets can leave a greasy residue on your sheets, comforters, and clothing, which isn’t ideal. Dryer balls are a simple, effective alternative.
- Choose the correct dryer temperature: Select the appropriate heat setting based on fabric type. Use high heat for towels and jeans, and lower heat for delicates to avoid damage. If you’re not sure, medium heat is usually a safe choice. Just keep in mind that clothes set to low temperature will take longer to dry compared to those set on high.
